FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCES

Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) aims to improve the quality of individual and family life through education, research, and outreach.   The residents of Caroline County are served by addressing a wide spectrum of needs including nutrition, food safety, health and wellness, child care skills, aging, and family resource management (including personal finances), to name a few.  By offering programs, services, and current information on topics such as these, FCS Extension helps to educate people so that they can help themselves to strengthen their own families and build their own communities.

Crystal Terhune is the Extension Educator for FCS in Caroline County, and programming is currently being developed.  Most of the programming and information offered by FCS is free; however, some programs may have a nominal fee.

For more information about the Family and Consumer Sciences program, or to discuss ideas for future program planning with FCS, contact Crystal by phone at 410-479-4030, or by e-mail at crystalt@umd.edu.
